Stone Office Gets Talcum Powder Fright

News reports say that a package containing talcum powder was delivered to Ald. Stone's office last night. The Chicago Tribune reports that "Police were called by Stone's office about 8 p.m. yesterday." Someone opened the package containing the powdery substance. "Initial tests determined the powdery substance to be non-toxic and may have been talcum powder," the Tribune notes.

Let's hope that the substance is talcum powder, but it doesn't matter. The incident undoubtedly scared those in the office (we have no idea if the alderman was actually there). They are in our thoughts.

Wow. It seems like whenever Stone is in a tough election horrible things happen to his office.

It took two days for someone to accuse the Adlerman of doing this to himself.JS you readers must have the holidy spirit as in March or April it would only take 2 minutes. Wait I guess the Alderman sent the same envelopes to the Mayor and Ald. Burke just to cover it up.

I don't think anyone believes that Stone did this himself. That's a terrible thing for you to say.

Notice the difference between this incident and the last one. Stone's office called the police this time; last time, Stone called the press. I think most of us have been around long enough to tell when the Alderman is pulling our legs.
