I guess Anon and JS have never work with a group of people for a long time. I have seen alot of things occur at going away parties or retiring parties/functions. What the Alderman did is no different. In a way, it is a kind of respect for the Dorothy the madhatter Tillman.
So do blame me as let it be known, I stood with Stone.
I supported Naisy and I can be labeled a Stone hater, but I have no problem with this. The man showed a human side, a sense of humor.

It makes you wonder if Alexander Hamilton didn't have a point when he suggested, in good Federalist sense, that the franchise be limited to "people of virtue" something the Stoners clearly aren't!

That libelous post by anon2:58 is demonstration that the the HATRED by the defeated BIGOTS in the 50th.Ward goes on.To so viciously attack the majority of this community's residents because they voted to re- elect Ald. The 50th Ward has spoken.
Alderman Stone regretfully won but he won't win again. In 2011 we will have a progressive alderman, something 47% of the 50th ward voted for. Indeed, I doubt Bernie will finish his term and when the special election comes the best people of the ward will finally drive out the moneychangers!

Lets get this straight, it was the Dolar/Brewer faction who dished out hate but can take it(I.E HUGH and company.
I been called a thug, bigot racist, stealing signs to name a few. However it was the Dolar nut at 6833 N. Kedzie who broke the laws on 4/17 campaiging with in 100 feet. it was the Brewer supporters who did not know how to run a campaign.

I have no hatred towards anyone. I'm just saddened that by a mere 500 vote margin we could not accomplish what voters in the 2nd,3rd, 32nd, and 42nd wards did,exiting a bad alderman. Stone is bad for our ward. His re-election won't change that and for his supporters to claim his opponents are "Fascist Leftist" elites, an interesting combo if you ask me, demonstrates just how they are out of touch with democratic realities.
As I said Alexander Hamilton would have used this an example as to why the franchise should be limited. But I take heart. The infant Republican Party that lost the 1856 presidential election to an ineffective old codger, James Buchanan, returned in 1860 to see Abraham Lincoln right to the White House. This too will happen in 2011 or sooner should Alderman Stone retire or find himself in a jail cell where he most certainly belongs!
It seems as if some of those who supported two of Ald. Stone's defeated opponents just won't accept their defeat(s) and continue in bashing Stone? One of them than had the arrogance to attempt to persuade you,Jay,to not permit any posts contrary to theirs,telling YOU it was a matter of YOUR LEGITIMACY. First the Stoners forget that they barely re-elected their great Comrade. To oppose Bernie is not to be a sore loser. It is merely to set the wheels in motion to insure that a Progressive is elected the next time around. The Democrats who barely lost the Presidency, kept hammering at that Scoundrel in the White House and the Republican traitors who have befouled our sacred land and guess what? Last fall they barely gained control of Congress and Karl Rove's lies couldn't stop it.
Secondly I've read a lot about the so called cess pool of the 49th Ward. Frankly, I have to ask what cess pool? I often travel through the 49th and what do I see there?
1-A functional Full Service Grocery Store-The Dominicks at Clark & Howard. (50th ward residents have no supermarket chains in their constituency and must go to the suburbs or ther parts of the city for such shopping.)
2-A modern public library at Clark & Morse. (In fact the 50th is surrounded by 3 wards, 40, 45, and 49 with state of the art Public Libraries often patronized by 50th ward residents. The Stoners apparently content with the disgraceful and crumbling Northtown Branch at California & Devon)
3-Two Starbucks and a plethora of upscale cafes on Sheridan.
4-New construction and shopping malls at Howard & Clark.
5-And during the aldermanic campaign 49th Ward merchants felt free enough to sport window signs for both incumbent Joe Moore and his challenger Dan Gordon. Contrast that to the Stalinist "Let It Be Known..." banners that mushroomed across Devon.
Sounds like we in the 50th are living in the Cesspool!
I guess the peop;e in the 50th like it here because their building and upgrading their homea all over the ward. If they were not happy here they wouldnt waste their money they would move.
