Stone Slept Here
Ald. Stone and his family have spent a lot of time denying that he takes naps frequently in public. I know that the last few times that I've seen him, he fell asleep.
Some people were even offended that Stone's opponents used the famous picture of him asleep during City Council this spring. "He was just resting his eyes," is the common refrain.
For some unknown reason, the fact that Stone in known to sleep at work, in public, and often is something that he wants to cover up. Now we have new pictures of Stone asleep at a public meeting taken by the person sitting next to him. We have first hand testimony to the fact that Stone was asleep. [These pictures are clearly from Mr. Gernhardt's cell phone. I was wrong; see comments.]
It wouldn't be so disturbing that Stone falls asleep if he didn't do it so often and didn't try to deny it. Why lie about it? We all wish that we could get paid for sleeping on the job. If you are our alderman, you can! No wonder so many people want to be alderman. But don't lie about it.

For the record, these were taken from a regular Panasonic digital camera.
The angle was from my knees, as not to tip off Pat Camden in the background. Otherwise I would've video'ed the whole twenty minute snooze for your pleasure.

I was at that Press Conference-Ald. Stone was concentrating on what was being said, when the "clever" Mr. Gernhardt decided to go DOWN-LOW and from his KNEES committed a real illusionary ATROCITY;of course,you couldn't post this excrement fast enough . Using tactics like this,one can readily see why Gernhardt deserves to have his Rogers Pk Heart Broken in his Morse Hell Hole.-This LOW-BLOW artist apparently wants to drag us all into his Hell Hole.
Well we hope he was dreaming of how not to ruin the 50th Ward, something Ald. Stone has done a fine job of until now! I'm sure the Capsman will be firing his vitrolic rubbish for this one.

Today at the Operation Triple Threat press conference, Good ole' Bernie decided to sit next to me and immediately fell sound asleep.
What he was doing there in the first place is beyond me. It wasn't his ward the bust went down in. But sure enough, there he was, right next to me, and taking a nap.
When Police spokesperson Pat Camden, nudged him awake for his portion of the speech, which was nothing more than the same bullshit lines we got earlier, I got to drill him. For once, Bernie was speechless. He couldn't answer a single question, except to tell us the gangs are "getting worse."
Haha. Bernie has been caught again! This is funny. And it's hardly what you would call a natural position to "concentrate" in. It's a little painful (try it at home). The only possible explanation is that he's asleep, and we have an eyewitness account to prove it! Priceless.
There is no question that Stone is asleep in these pictures. That said, they are funny. Craig, did he snore? Make funny noises?

I don't think you can accurately say that we know whether Stone is supported by a majority of the 50th. You may think that he is and I may think that he's not, but we don't really know.

There is no way you can say that the Sleeping Man is supported by a majority of our community. Stone is despised by most of the people who live here. Absolutely despised. When you talk to him, he's rude. When you call the office, they're obnoxious. When you talk to city workers, they laugh at you. Hate is actually not too strong a word for the reactions that people have when the Sleeping Man is mentioned.

Jay, thanks for understanding that we don't want or need to see such vitriol when reading about the neighborhood. We know that Stone won the vote, he just doesn't have our hearts with him.
Now those three are an example of the "nice,wonderful neighbors" I refer to.Either they don't realize(very doubtful) the tone and HATRED of their ANTI-STONE/ANTI-STONE SUPPORTERS posts or they are WORLD CLASS HYPOCRITS.What they don't realize is that SILENCING BY CENSORSHIP those in opposition to their HATRED proves my point. What are we voting on?
We aren't voting on anything. CAPSMAN seems to think that anyone who expresses a different view is anti-Semitic, and (s)he has said this over and over and over and over. I had warned that, unless (s)he has proof (something he has never offered), that I won't allow him/her to post repetitive comments. I think we all know what CAPSMAN thinks about his or her neighbors. No need to offend us again.

Seems to me, Jay, that you have been exceedingly fair to the Stone supporters here, given you point of view. I'm not against a counter-site, I think the more the merrier!
Thanks for keeping it real and for giving a voice to the neglected citizens in our neighborhood. I don't come here often, but when I do, I usually feel more hopeful for our future.
Alderman Stone was sleeping during almost the entire proceedings on the day we spoke in the Council Chambers to save the Adelphi Theater in the 49th ward.
If fact, he only woke to assist Joe Moore in yelling at us to get off the microphone.
Of course, I did continue, to have my statement recorded on the official record.
