The Color of Rebuke

Key:
Red = Stone won 55% or more
Pink = Stone won 50%-54%
Green = Ira won 50%-54%
Lt Gr = Ira won 55%-64%
Lt Bl = Ira won 65%-74%
Blue = Ira won 75% or more

Ald. Stone may try to blame his crushing defeat on Congresswoman Schakowsky and the lakeside liberals, but it's apparent from the vote returns that he was rebuked across the 50th Ward. Peterson Park, hardly a bastion of lakeside liberals, voted overwhelming against Stone, as did Park Place and the nursing homes; this was a broad rejection of Stone shared across all the neighborhoods.

85% of the voters who came out voted in this race. Stone held on to less than half the vote he had received not even a year ago. Outside of three of the Winston Towers and precinct captain Saul Charak's precinct, Stone lost those precincts he had won in 2007. Which may answer the question of who the precinct captains were loyal to, Stone or the Mayor. Newly-elected Democratic Committeeman Ira Silverstein turned the 50th Ward blue!

Well now we have to reframe the mindset of certain voters in the ward that only a Jewish alderman can safeguard the Jewish institutions and their rank and file in the 50th Ward. I've heard this very narrow perspective articulated on several occasions and it is important to move voters to the reality that they have nothing to fear from a little diversity in the way of their City Council representative.

I agree wholeheartedly, at least Silverstein doesn't play on the voters sympathy like Stone does. Disgusting. I hope Dolar gets in in the future.

Since you accuse the Democratic Club of the 50th Ward a Crminal Organization, why dont you come to the next meeting so you can become an accessory to what ever crime is being committeed asidefrom the Slander that occurs on your blog?

Hey JS have you ever met any criminals who belong to this organization and seen what crimes they committ. It seems the only crime is the slander on this blog.

Oh an each post that goes up with that slander is a crime... a crime by violating the right of the members of tht organization, Human rights, civil rights... Everone has rights even criminals( not that there are any criminals there)

Anyone know what Senator Silverstein is doing to help us with our Schools?? Sounds like were in pretty bad shape. What's he doing for us, or is he too busy now that he is the Committeeman.

Ron Paul is free to stand by his principles, the hallmark of living in a democracy. John McCain has dangerously married himself to the War Party and thus Paul, a traditional conservative, feels he cannot endorse the Arizona Senator under those conditions.

As for the Anon. Detractor, he might do well to learn how to spell as he appears to be an illiterate from his posts.

It is extremely disheartening to me that we have such lowlifes as our neighbors in the 50th Ward. Well Bernie's career is finished. Perhaps these dinosaurs will get used to it and get out of the way....

Out of respect for Albert Bitton,I will keep the tone of my post down but Mr. David L. If you are called me a low life, I would be glad to compare my lifetime record against yours.

Once again you call names when are called on the carpet for your views. Someone ask what have you done productive. Well today, I have served my fellow man in more ways before 6 am this morning then most people do in a week. I do more than blog, blog, blog.

If you can find a better Ward to live in Chicago then go live in it.

Oh and have a happy day..

When is Stone gonna get that school up and running, near North Shore and Whipple? The one he dangled before us every time he was up for re-election, to relieve the overcrowded public schools? How old is that carrot.....? Maybe we'll have more luck with Silverstein.

Bernie is an embarrassment to this neighborhood, to this city and to Democrats everywhere. It is fitting he lost to such a good man. We will all be better when he finally passes from the scene; then we can hold our heads up high again.

To the Anon Detractor- I work daily making life better at an inner city hospital, serve my synagogue, and serve as a religious educator in two suburban congregations. I need not defend myself to anyone especially to friends of Bernard Stone who are illiterates!

My friends all know I voted for Mr. Paul in the Illinois primary and are fine with my decision, although they don't agree with me. Who invested you with the right to invalidate your neighbours? Not every one is going to bow down to Bernard Stone or follow the Arutz 7 Party Line.

It is high time this repugnant moron and illiterate get into the dustbin of history!

Attempts to politicize Albert Bitton's death is the most despicable thing I've ever been exposed to. I am shocked by this behavior. If you have a memory of Bitton to share, that's fine. But otherwise, I won't tolerate such blatant attempts to politicize his death. His loss is a loss to the entire community, and I, for one, ask that people respect that.

"Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice; moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!"

One does not have to answer to the ignorant herd or rabble. Ron Paul's presidential candidacy is effectively over but his crusade for a better America must go on. An America with a responsible immigration policy, an America that protects its industries, and an America that stays out of foreign debacles like Iraq.
