Why You Can't Trust Naisy

Not everyone shares my values that expect honest and integrity among our politicians. Applegirl wonders why I'm "obsessed" with Naisy's lack of integrity. That is a good question.

The first reason I've focused on this is that I was once taken in by Naisy. I was excited by her political promise, like I think others were and are.

But after talking to Naisy a few times, I became very uncomfortable with supporting her. Something wasn't right. Something didn't ring true.

Applegirl thinks that Naisy's lie is normal. That's sad. But whenever I've brought it up to her supporters, they generally don't believe me. Naisy's lived here all her life! Her supporters think this means that she lived in her parent's house for 30 years. More importantly, voters believe don't think that living here for 30 years or all her life means that she went to high school in Florida. We feel deceived.

We were deceived.

I've came to the conclusion that Naisy has a problem with the truth. This is the first concrete evidence I've had that validates my feelings. There are supporters of hers who have decided that Naisy's lack of integrity just doesn't matter. And I suppose that if you are an Asian-American, and you want to see one of yours on the city council, that shouldn't matter. Naisy would at least by your crook.

But as I've said before, we already have a crook as alderman. Why elect a Stone clone? Can't we do better? Shouldn't we "expect more for our ward?"

If it's all about ethnic politics, then my people are already represented.

Other commenters have tried to mitigate Naisy's lies by pushing her "policy" experience. Strangely, not too much comment about Naisy's role in throwing out set-asides for Asian-Americans. Again, if you are an Asian-American, I'd presume that wouldn't matter. Even if Naisy is ineffectual at policy-making, at least she'd be your ineffective policy maker. In this assumed quota system, everyone should have one. I guess.

But why should we want that in the 50th Ward? That's an astonishing argument. We already have an alderman who divides us into ethnic groups. I'm not comfortable with that. And I don't want Stone replaced by a Stone clone, whether it be Ilana or Naisy.

The reason I can't support Naisy anymore is that she's lied to us, she lacks integrity, she can't protect us. If you've lived here for a long time, then you know that this community is worth protecting. We have something special here, and I don't just mean the profound Jewish character of the neighborhood. We are diverse, we are welcoming, we are special. Naisy's singular policy experience tells us that she is unable to protect her own. I can't risk the 50th Ward because Naisy has a little bit of charisma. You can't trust Naisy. Just ask her.

Since yor're concerned with protecting "you're own",why are you trying so hard to defeat YOU'RE OWN?Whatever your personal motives, you are helping those whose intention is to take political representation away from YOUR OWN??

I think that the point applegirl raises is different. People can claim that their family owns a place or that they have a special place in their heart for the community. But living in a place and claiming to live in a place is far different from matters of the heart. Especially when one is running on a platform of not needing any more BS.

JS, I think that Asian Americans are not looking for an crook to claim their Asian American identity. I think that Asian American voters are looking for the fairness and representation just as any other person in the ward. So, it may be that Asian Americans will not necessarily vote for Naisy, given these revelations.

In the big picture, Naisy should address these claims or clarify these claims. The supporters who defend these claims should not be speaking for Naisy. It makes it seem like that she is lying with their explanation(s).

My $.02...

The truth is Naisy Dolar is a FRONT candidate for outside the 50th ward and outside Chicago/outside ILLINOIS interests. DOLAR'S campaign disclosure and endorser list reveals that BASIC FACT

Want to talk about lying? Let's talk about lying:

The "Greg Brewer Foundation," aka Citizens for Responsible Development, previously said the following on its front page:

"[Brewer's] experience as an architect and planner make him uniquely qualified to tackle the development issues that confront the 50th Ward. Greg's 20 years of experience have taught him the importance of community involvement in planning and development decisions. Greg has used those skills to build comprehensive plans for entire countries."

Now, that front page says:
"Greg Brewer is an experienced architect and planner who for the last 20 years has helped shape major projects around the world."

Which is it, Greg? Have you planned entire countries? Which ones? Are you in charge of urban planning for them? Or do you just "help"? How about you have some foreign dignitaries endorse you?

Were you... lying, Greg?

Hello?

Greg?

If this is the worst thing Dolar ever does, I would have no problem with it.

Bernie, Bernie, Bernie. The two are not mutually exclusive. We realize that you're old and tired, but this is an indication that your mind is failing, too. You just can't grasp simply logic anymore!

Or perhaps its the first salvo in your imfamous whisper campaign. Good thing you got the Kelly and O'Connor gangs to help you out. We all knew you'd need the help! Ask yourself: is Bernie Stone really alive or is the machine just propping him up?

Wow, I haven’t seen Democratic infighting since…the last primaries. So glad to see that the same 150 people, or rather unique usernames, are here duking it out where it’s nice and warm in front of your almighty computer screens. Oops…hide that other window quick before mom catches you looking at dirty political videos! Do you really think anyone gives half a rat’s ass about what you think or say? Well, they don’t, because you’re not like ‘the voters’ because you pay attention. Maybe Stone is falling because he’s too old or too busy…okay, maybe just too old…to open new email accounts and use them to buy stock in himself. Maybe Naisy is winning because her people only know how to do this and sport snazzy yellow condom hats; seriously, please don’t come back to my door unless you want to be laughed off the porch. Maybe Salman is losing because he’s actually losing. Maybe Greg’s stock is falling because his people are too busy whining about yard signs and waffling on debate appearances to buy more of it. But one thing is sure: the only people who discuss or read such things on the blogs (this and all the others) have already made up their minds, so why not take a step out of the echochamber. Just in case you’ve been sitting there for as long as I’m guessing you have, I’ll try to ease you into it - it’s five below, the Bears lost the SuperBowl, and - oh, yeah—there’s an election going on out there. Not in here, out there… Out there where voters care about the superficial more than they do the facts. Salman assaulted a man and threatened to stab him in the ass, what else do you need to know? Naisy failed to get Asians included in minority contracts when it was her only job to advocate for them at City Hall, and the ‘poor immigrant story’ rings hollow from someone who lived in a condo her parents bought for her while she attended Loyola. Greg has only lived in the ward 7 years and has no kids, so what does he know or care about our schools? And Stone…ohhh, Berny…The Wall. The Vyrdoliak 29. The napping. The pay raises. The shakedowns, the intimidation, the neglect. You suck, old man. One of these folks is going to retire you before you have the chance to install your daughter, the only one of your children you haven’t disowned or publicly humiliated. Who cares? You, and you alone. The voters (you remember them, right?) care about who has done less harm to them most recently. Period. Promises are good too, particularly if you can convince voters that your deity of a candidate will keep them and maybe even justify that with, oh, maybe some relevant experience and a track record of not being a complete jackass. I sincerely hope you enjoy insulting your neighbors through an electronic veil, I know I do. Oh, me? Who do I support? I’m not going to tell you, and not because I really want to stay on the call and mail lists, though I did get a good laugh out of Berny’s “Welcome to America” piece. I just don’t want to give you the easy out, I want to make you think about what you say, and why you suppose you have any right to say it. See, I’m writing myself in so you’ll have to wait for the official results. I’ll be the only person with exactly as many votes as he deserves—one, because you only know yourself well enough to make the judgments made so hastily here.

P.S. Nobody cares about your stupid blog. Seriously, how ‘bout a nice warm cup of shut the hell up? Aahhh, doesn’t that taste nice?

I don't know which debate you went to last night, Anon, but it wasn't the one at Boone school. Or maybe you had an opinion before it started. What I saw were three challengers laying it on the line out there to a packed room of concerned voters of the 50th ward. All three showed passion, and commitment to addressing the ever increasing problems that have accumilated over the years. What's Stone's problem with not attending these forums? I saw Joe Moore at the RPCAN forum and he held his own against a less than friendly audience. What's Bernie afraid of?

Bernie's afraid of losing. If he shows up, there's a 50-50 chance he'll fall asleep. When Greg has faced off with him down at city hall, which you would think would be Bernie's home turf, Stone was too afraid to speak!

I know for a fact that ALDERMAN STONE OFFERRED TO DEBATE EACH OPPONENT ONE-ON -ONE.That would be the ONLY FAIR WAY. I KNOW IT WAS REJECTED.STONE'S opponnents want anything but a FAIR DEBATE .Oh,as an aside-the Stone campaign does not base its decisions on Joe Moore's decisions in the 49th ward.

QUESTION-Why do so many bungalow dwellers hate so deeply? Are they a downtrodden minority or just nasty?

At February 08, 2007 12:35 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

anon 11:23, you would be wrong. neither stone nor alan crown (or mike moses, for that matter) ever approached us or made such an offer. in fact, we've been trying to arrange a one-on-one debate with stone for weeks.

i strongly suspect that stone didn't make this offer to any other candidate, either. they would -- like us -- have jumped at the opportunity. so the only question remaining is, why would you say such a thing?

it's obvious that stone is scared of greg brewer. after his performance at the planning commission, it's doubtful that he would ever debate greg. he doesn't have the guts...
